list of changes)
-
Performance
Enhancements
-
Introduction of
Microsoft .NET
Framework v2.0;
Console.NET v3.0
takes advantage
of the
significantly
improved web
service
performance in
.NET 2.0.
This web service
performance
translates into
an
improvement in
performance,
particularly
with large BCM
and Norstar
systems (over 60
phones).
Performance of
Console.NET
with networked
BCM's and
Norstar's is also
improved.
-
Optimization of
the web
server/client
protocol
provides
improved
Console performance
-
Functional
Improvements
-
added call
control
capability from
a local BCM or
Norstar system to
a remote/networked BCM
or Norstar phone using
Console.NET.
i.e. A
receptionist on
BCM-A can
transfer a call
to BCM-B using
Console.NET
-
one LAN CTE
client and one
computer can be
used to network
multiple BCM's
-
added the
ability to
transfer a call
to a mailbox on
a remote BCM or
Norstar
without
centralized
voicemail.
This feature is
not possible
without
Console.NET.
-
added
the capability
to send long
text messages
(greater than 16
characters) to the
screen of a
telephone by
scrolling the
message. A soft
key will allow a
user to
cancel/clear the
message
-
added the
ability to
provide a
special type of
"Camped" call
which is termed
"Call Waiting".
Call Waiting
allows a call to
be Camped at a
users telephone
while a text
message is
scrolled to the
users telephone
display.
Using the
telephone soft
keys (or numeric
keys of a single
line phone) the
user may
perform the
following
actions to the
Call Waiting call
while on an
active call.
-
send
the
Call Waiting call
to voice
mail while
on an active
call
-
answer a
Call Waiting call
and put the
current call
on hold
-
Conference a
Call Waiting call
with an
active call
-
added the
ability for a
phone to set a
Notification
Message on the
Console
interface. i.e.
Out of the
office.
A telephone
user invokes a
Feature code
which allows
them to scroll
through a list
of "pre-defined"
messages.
Once selected,
the message is
displayed on the
respective extension
button on the
Console. This
is a key code
enabled feature
-
when an internal
(intercom) call
is made to a
phone that has a
Notification
Message
activated (see
paragraph above)
the callers
phone display
will display the
Notification
Message
notifying the
caller of the
status of that
person
-
added the
ability to
search a URL by
Caller ID both
manually and
automatic.
i.e. A call
answered by a
Console.NET user
can
automatically
invoke a reverse
phone number
search on
411.com and
provide the
callers name and
address before
saying hello
-
Parked,
Transfered and
Camped calls
that time-out
and return to
the Console.NET
user will
display the
reason for the
call back along
with the
extension that
the call was
originally sent
to.
-
Licensing
Improvements
-
added licensing
for the new
feature "Message
Notification by
TUI" (telephone
user interface)
-
PBX Server Manager
Utility
-
This utility is
used to assist
with the
installation,
configuration
and monitoring
of the the
Console.NET PBX

This service is
used to

the local and
all remote BCM &
Norstar systems
