Console.NET and Windows Terminal Services

October 21, 2005 -- Console.NET brings advanced CTI to Windows Terminal Services

Many companies today are migrating to Windows Terminal Services in order to take advantage of the many benefits.

One benefit of Terminal Services is the ability to allow Windows-based applications to operate on virtually any desktop computing device, including those that cannot run Windows. This allows more people in an organization take advantage of the resources provided by a distributed computing environment.

Bud Kesic, Senior Developer and Project Manager for Console.NET explains why Console.NET is perfectly suited for a Terminal Services environment.

"Console.NET's background technology is based on ASP.NET and Web Service services running through Internet Information Server the server computer. The client is browser based and is network and operating system agnostic. This model is perfect for terminal service since the main server is providing virtual os services for all clients. It is natural that the same server, or any additional server, provides additional services like Console.NET services."

Terminal Services client software is available for a wide variety of different client hardware devices, including personal computers, Windows-based Terminals, and non Windows-based devices such as the Apple Macintosh or UNIX workstations.
