Upgrades and Enhancements from 2.10 to 2.11

 

Hold (Call Disappears)

  •  A problem was corrected when a telephone call is screen transferred back to a Console.NET user and then placed on hold, the call disappeared.

 

Install Shield

  • (SP2 Detection) Install shield will detect if Windows SP2 is present, if so it will present an information window directing customers to our website for instructions on conflict resolution. This detection was intended for Win XP SP2 only.
  • Due to variations in Operating Systems, functions of Product Upgrades and Un-installing produced varied results and often required special operations to make function properly. Custom scripts were designed within Install Shield to better support Upgrades, Uninstalls, New Installations in all supported Operating Systems. (XP pro,2000 pro,2003 Server, 2000 Advanced Server)
  • When selecting “Change/Remove” product from “Add/Remove Programs”, The “Modify” option has been added to allow changing of PBX server from 3.5 to 3.6 without having to un-install and re-install the software
  • A new feature has been added to search for a previous installation for upgrade purposes
  • Fixed compatibility issue with Install Shield installing product ver2.10 on Win2000 pro. A required component “MDAC” did not upgrade properly. When win2000pro is detected, the MDAC installation will run separately requesting license agreement and installation acceptance. Note: If a *.DLL error is reported after reboot, ignore it!

 

Support Links

  • Three links have been added to the main help window. Website, FAQ’s and Remote Assist.

 

New CTE/CTA

  • New Nortel Beta version of CTE and CTA drivers added to CD for use on Norstar switches that are experiencing hung calls.

 

Future Fixes

  • Any fixes developed for this product will applied with a Patch installation available from www.convertecinc.com. New versions will only be created for major product enhancements.

 

Upgrades and Enhancements from 2.03 to 2.10

 

Licensing

  • Any previous versions of software will require a new license to operate. If the purchase of the previous version was made in the last 60 days or the Assurance plan was purchased, the new license will be provided no charge.

 

Install Shield

  • Install shield version upgraded to support new operating systems
  • Revised some wording on the Check List during initial installation.
    • Changed “Windows 200 Pro or XP Pro” to “Windows 200 Pro or XP Pro or 2003 server”
    • Changed “Administrative rights on Local Computer” to “Windows Login as Administrator of Local Machine”
    • Changed Pentium 600 MHz to “Pentium 4, 1 GHz or Equivalent
    • Changed Minimum space requirement from 2 Gb to 1Gb
    • Removed “Http Keep-Alives Disabled” from IIS confirmation
  • Removed the Dos security script prompting to press “Y” to apply security settings. Security settings are now set with Install Shield.

 

PBX switch Support (Phone System Support)

  • Added support for BCM 3.6
  • Removed support for BCM 3.0 (this support was removed due to stability issues with LAN CTE that cannot be fixed without upgrading the BCM)

 

New Operating system support

  • Added support for Server 2003
  • Added MDAC (Microsoft Data Access Component) 8.0

 

Date Format (Effecting Reports)

  • The database date format will now automatically convert other formats such as UK to the required US format to allow the report to function correctly.

 

Diagnostics (French OS)

  • Diagnostics are now able to function in a French Operating System environment.
  • Time & Date field added to the diagnostic log file

 

Screen Transfer Delay

  • A 500ms delay was introduced for Screen Transfer due to intermittent operation.

 

Park/Page Delay

  • A 600ms delay was introduced between the Park & Page single button function. This was changed due to intermittent operation caused by session state still active for “Park” command.

 

Database (Company Record Searches)

  • Fixed issue with incomplete Call display such as “0” or “01” popping database records based on partial match. The caller ID will no longer search the database unless at least 6 digits are present.

Login Screen

  • Cursor now defaults the extension input box. In previous versions you would have to manually select the box before entering your extension number.

 

Screen Pop Contact Number Dialing (PRI Configuration)

  • Ability to dial a contact number from a Screen Pop with PRI configuration is now functional. Digits would be deleted from the beginning of the number in previous versions.

 

Transfer (To Virtual DN’s)

  • Ability to transfer to a grayed out extension. This allows calls to be transferred to ACD transfer DN's as well as Guest voice Mail boxes, provided they are added to the Directory number list.

 

Intermittent Screen Pops

  • A Microsoft bug in xml parser that occurs in some very specific situation causes intermittent screen pops. Some changes were made to help resolve this problem.

 

Licensed Users

  • Admin login is no longer counted as a licensed user. Keeping an Admin account continually logged in on the server provides the following benefits:
    1. The first user logging in no longer has to wait for Initialization to complete. Ready state is immediate.
    2. Call data will continue to log in the Database even when there are no licensed users logged in.

 

Navigator (Company & Contact Searches)

  • External searching for First, Last or Company name will now drill down and include all “Contact” numbers associated to the “Company” records. Previous versions did not include first & last name searches from main Company page and did not show all contact numbers for outbound dialing.
  • First & Last name fields in Customer/Companies are now mandatory entries to allow proper searching capabilities.
  • Internal searches now offer dialing from navigator.

 

Reports

  • Fixed issue with (00:00:00) time being reported for report Inbound Calls by Extensions when Including Transfers is selected.
  • Removed ability to enter an extension for Call Duration report with Internal selection. This report is incompatible for individual searches in this category.
  • Changed Inbound Calls by Extension- Standard report is only call duration while active on the telephone.
  • Changed Inbound Calls by Extension (Including Transfers) – Includes complete call time from ring to final call termination. That includes transfers and hold time.

 

Birth & Death (Extensions grayed out)

  • Fixed an issue with the GUI not updating the status on phones that get disconnected & re-connected. Some phone being disconnected did not show until in the GUI until days later.  Disconnect updates (grayed out extensions), take about 3-5 minutes. Re-connect updates take bout 10 seconds.

 

Documents

  • Updated the User Guide & Minimum Specifications
  • Added licensing instructions
  • Added diagnostic log setup instructions

 

Norstar CTE/CTA

  • A new version of Nortel CTE (Computer Telephony Engine) and CTA (Computer Telephony Adapter) is used to provide improved system stability. In some Norstar systems the Nortel CTE would cause loss of information due to buffer overflows. That loss of event information could cause various issues from hung calls to complete stoppage of software responding.

 

 

Version 2.0.3 Enhancements from 2.0.2

 

GUI (PRI/T1 Configured)

  • Displaying a DN as green in the GUI as soon as a trunk is accessed for outbound dialing on a switch configured with (PRI/T1) lines. In Previous versions, the GUI would not indicate the extension in use until the call was completed.

 

Transfer (To an Active Extension)

  • Ability to Transfer calls to an extension that is on an active call (Green). Previous version did not allow this.

 

Support Documents

  • The majority of documents have been changed from *.DOC to HTML format for viewing.
  • A Frequently Asked Questions document has been added to the Documents folder for additional support

 

Hung Calls

  • In some instances, Norstar CTE would produce unwanted results that would cause Console.NET to display calls as ringing when they are not, (Hung Calls). A fix in 2.03 will now delete these events if they occur.

 

On Hold (Call Clarification)

  • When an incoming call is answered by the first device and placed on hold, that held call will show for any Console.NET user with an appearance or ringing of the incoming line. Once the call is transferred or parked, any further holding of the call will not show in Console.NET users public call window regardless of line appearance. Note: If the second device taking the call is a Console.NET user that puts it on hold, the call will show in the public call widow as holding for that user only.

 

Icon Change

  • The desktop shortcut for Console.NET has changed from an Internet Explorer icon to a globe with a telephone. The “Add Remove Programs” icon has also changed to the new icon.

 

 

Version 2.0.2 Enhancements from 2.0.1

 

 

Minimum Specifications

  • The minimum specifications of hard drive space required for Installation has been reduced from 2GB to 1 GB.

 

Install Shield

  • When re-running installation of the same version of ConsoleNet, the ability to “Modify and or Repair” has been removed due to compatibility issues.

 

Reports

  • The ability to perform searches from within the completed report, (Crystal Reports) has been removed due compatibility issues.

 

Hold

  • Only calls that are offered by Ringing or Appear & Ring on the ConsoleNet user’s phone will show as held calls in the “Public call window” of ConsoleNet.

 

Demo Shield

  • Demo Shield now offers the ability to view the "Multimedia Demonstration" for ConsoleNet.

Logging in to ConsoleNet

  • After entering your Extension & Password to login, the message "The web page you are viewing is trying to close. Do you wish to close this window?" is now removed.

 

On Top

  • When "On Top" is not selected, your ConsoleNet interface will no longer maximize from a minimized position when you use your telephone.

 

Agent Login to ConsoleNet

  • You are now able to Login to ConsoleNet using an extension of a Call Center Agent and use ConsoleNet for Call Control.

 

Cancel Button

  • Fixed the ability to cancel a "Screen Transfer" from the “Personal Call Window” when you want to disconnect from a V-Mail forward at the transfer destination.

Reports

  • When selecting the report “Inbound Calls by Extension”, the ability to "Include Transfers" has been removed for “All extensions” due to illegal operation.

 

Customer data Entry

  • Some Fields for entering digits in the Customer Database would not allow number entries from the number keypad on the right side of the keyboard. This has been fixed.

 

Demo Shield Multi Language Support

  • Demo Shield now offers multi language support to match Install Shield.

 

Ctrl. N Function

  • The ability to open a duplicate Internet Explorer window using "Ctrl+N" has been removed due to incompatibility issues.

 

Help Files

  • English help files have been updated to reflect major changes in the Software.

 

PBX Server

  • Priority was increased for ConsoleNet sessions to overcome an issue with call control when initiating V-Mail Transfer.

 

 

Version 2.0.0 Enhancements from 1.1.9

 

 

Mandatory License Upgrade

  • Upgrading from version previous to 2.0 will require a mandatory License Upgrade.

 

Message Notification

  • When a message is posted on an extension in ConsoleNet, the message is now saved in the Database and will stay active if all users log out of active sessions and log back in.
  • When trying to type a message in the message box in ConsoleNet, incoming calls will no longer interrupt the text input. If Details is off, messages will now indicate as "BLUE" filled DN. Mouse over will show message if browser and OS is capable.

 

Message Details

  • When details are unchecked from the Main GUI, extensions with messages posted will now only show as a blue filled extension. Mouse over will display the entire message.

 

Text Message

  • Text messages sent to telephones no longer display the "OK" above the Soft Key. Note: Special Character "&" cannot be used in Text Message. Text messages cannot exceed 15 Characters & must be terminated by selecting "RLS". Messages should not be sent to a user on an active call, if the user presses “RLS” they will terminate the active call.

 

Customers/Companies/Business Phones

  • An internal extension (less than 7 digits) can be saved along with external number in "Business Phones" section. This will allow "Screen Pops" from       incoming calls to offer one point contact for both internal and external calling.

 

Screen Pops (Incoming call screen pop)

  • Screen Pop is now capable of recognizing and calling an internal extension number (less than 7 digits) saved in the Customers/Companies/ "Business Phones" section.

 

On Top

  • When using the "On Top" feature, it will now only maximize the Console.Net GUI for call activity associated with the user’s telephone that you are logged in as.

 

 Saving Settings

  • When exiting from Console, "Details" and "On Top" settings are now saved in the Database and will re-appear on your next login.
  • When first setting up the Server settings in ConsoleNet Administration, Selecting the "Dial Prefix" check box will now remain selected when saving initial settings

 

GUI (Right Click Functions)

·         Right clicking on an extension in ConsoleNet now confirms your extension selection in the extended function window. E.g. If you right click an extension, the active window showing transfer features etc. will now confirm your extension selection in the upper left corner.

 

 Data Base

·         When Directory Numbers or Servers are deleted, they are now actually removed from the database instead of being flagged as inactive.

 

 Language Support

·         Additional languages are offered for ease of supporting Installation

·         Additional browser languages are supported for Console functionality and help files

 

Reports

  • Reports now gather on the server and are not sent to the Client (user) until finished sorting. Reports would previously hold sessions and system resources on the Client (user) until finished sorting. Note: These changes do not affect the speed of the reports, only way they are delivered.
  • "Name" info from Telco "Caller ID" is now included in the "Name" field of the reports.

 

Installation Support

  • PBX Server Description now shows the current version in "Administrative Tools"/"Services". E.g.: If you install Console for BCM 3.0, the description of PBX Service will be "PBX Server_BCM_3.0" This will assist with troubleshooting improper installation of PBX Server.
  • Install Shield now includes a choice for Installation of BCM 3.5 when installing PBX Service.
  • Remote PBX Service now includes the option for BCM 3.5 as a remote location server.
