Developer Integration Toolkit

The ConverTec Developer Integration Toolkit for Nortel's Norstar and Business Communications Manager (BCM) provides a simple yet highly functional method for software developers to add telephony functionality to an application. Based upon .NET technology, the toolkit offers a bidirectional interface that sends BCM and Norstar events, while able to accept commands to perform features such as dialling.

Toolkit Technical Reference

The Toolkit is windowless .NET component or Web Services that communicates with PBX Server and incorporates a client connection Licensing policy.

The toolkit comes in two different versions:

• Web service.
  • This version is ideal for all non Microsoft based development platforms and systems. The exposed web services can be used by any platforms from any operating system
• .NET component
  • This version of toolkit is tailored for .NET development platform and is fully compatible with Microsoft Visual Studio. The component can be used from any programming language that is supported by Microsoft Visual Studio.

Basic features:

• Exposes events for "External Incoming" Call Info relevant to individual or all device offerings and connections of a particular CallID.
• Exposes user selectable devices' monitoring events
• Receives and executes commands relevant to placing calls on behalf of a client device.
• Incorporates License policy

Protocol:

The Protocol for events is XML compliant and can be universally used by any xml parser. Error handling is incorporated in protocol.

Database:

The toolkit is database agnostic and can be used with any SQL server or ODBC compliant database.

Licensing:

The toolkit is licensed to the Developer Partners on a one time-basis. Subsequent sales to End Users is licensed on a PBX Server and client basis.
